Jumbo Tag Tutorial

Hi everyone it's Peggy Lee here to share with you all my Jumbo Tag Tutorial using Nirvana Collection by Marion Smith Designs.
You can soon purchase this beautiful collection in scrapbook stores near you-(ask your local store to carry Marion's line)...start creating beautiful artwork.
Here we go....

Jumbo Tag
Tutorial
Step 1:
Measure a piece of chipboard to 8x4.
Cut out the tag.
Step 2:
Cover the chipboard tag with Nirvana papers...
I used 3-n-1 Beacon Glue
placed down the paper and cut around the chipboard tag.
Step 3:
Laying down a layer of gel-medium...
Lay down tissue paper (wrinkle first).
smooth out the tissue paper over the tag
make sure you seal the edges well.
Use a heat tool to dry tissue paper layer.
Step 4:
sand the edges of tag
Step 5:
do a light white wash over the tag with gesso
Step 6:
Grab stucco/gesso mixture
and a mask...stencil some texture over the tag.
dry with heat tool...
Step 7:
Whooo a fun technique-spraying yummie color!
Grab your favorite mist!
I used Glimmer Mist and handmade mist...
I used Tattered Angels glimmer mist in
Tattered Leather, Raven, Graphite, Riptide
and Plain Jane-Baseboard in Blue Bird.
Handmade vintage photo spray...
this is a really fun step-spray here and there
adding many yummie colors...dry in between colors.
Spray again...until you love it!!
Step 8:
Splatting mist upon the tag...super fun!!!
Step 9:
Taking gesso lightly brush over the crackle mask areas
to help highlight them...
Step 10:
Ripping a piece of cardboard from a old box
paint it with gesso
(this will be the photo mat)
Step 11:
Preparing the paper embellishments for the tag.
I like to glue paper embellishments down to a piece
of chipboard...cut out and distress edges.
Distress edges of all paper embellishments and photo.
Step 12:
After the tag has fully dried from misting...
grab your favorite script stamp..
stamp over your tag-adds texture...

Step 13:
Building your tag...
Glue do cheeseclothe down and the cardboard riped piece
using hot glue.
Arrange your photo and paper embellishments
where you like the placement...
when happy...start glueing down I use
a mixture of hot glue and 3-n-1
Reached into my stash to use up some odds and ends..
Petaloo flower
Prima leaves
Distress Stain to tone down the leaves...
fuzzy cut out more little
embellishments from the paper line.
Finishing touches:
Cover your photo-add some more misting
oh and the splatting!
highlight with gesso once more...
here is a close up of the finished tag....hope you all enjoy
Thanks for stopping by today,
hugs,
Peggy Lee
